It all started with my Grandma and Mom…

Since I was a young girl, I always found refuge and peace in the kitchen with my Mom. Love was shown through the meals prepared, the time put into dishes and the laughs that filled the kitchen when they cooked together. As a little girl, it was something I watched in awe. Then as I grew up, I always helped around the kitchen as much as I could, helping my mom here and there. As I got older, when times were tough or I was dealing with stress, I gravitated towards baking. The process of intricately measuring the ingredients, rolling out cookies, baking cupcakes or mixing up frosting, became therapeutic and brought me a sense of peace.

Showing her love by cooking for those around her, My Grandmother was always in the kitchen. Watching her and my mom cook together was something I always looked up to and wanted to do. Spreading LOVE through cooking is culturally a part of who I am and have always been.

For me the kitchen is a place of peace, exploration and everything right in this world!

Salt Sugar Flour has been years in the making, but was officially “born” into the public on November 25th of 2020. For so long I toyed around with the name, did I want “Chelsea’s Cookies, Cookies by Chelsea” and as I was brainstorming names, I decided to write down the staple ingredients to all things delicious. Salt, Sugar, Flour appeared on my notes and I immediately fell in love. It was so simple, yet the strong base that holds so many important recipes together, and I immediately knew it was a perfect match.

Looking back at 2020, a year that caused so many setbacks, so much stress, and insane changes to everyday life, I threw myself into the kitchen to bake my worries away. Not knowing that in the process, I would open up Salt Sugar Flour and that it would be received in the way that it has! The Small Business Community has welcomed me with open arms and immense support, something I will always be tremendously thankful for!

This business has been one of the greatest blessings in my life and I look forward to all of the cookie love and growth to come!
