💥 Browned Butter Oatmeal Chocolate Chip 💥
The nuttiness of the browned butter, the chewy brown sugar base and the crunchy oats make this cookie irresistible. Not to mention ribbons of delicious chocolate chunks throughout. These cookies are perfectly chewy in the middle, have a crunchy edge and have a deep nutty flavor.
Ingredients:
- 2 sticks unsalted butter (1 cup) browned and cooled
- 1 1/4 cup brown sugar (275 g)
- 2 large eggs
- 1 Tbs vanilla extract
- 2 cups all purpose flour (250 g)
- 2 cups old fashioned oats (162 g)
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 2 cups chocolate chips or chunks (340 g)
- Sea salt (a pinch)
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Melt butter on stovetop over medium heat for 5-7 minutes until butter starts to brown and become aromatic. (Let cool for 10 minutes before starting dough)
In a bowl, combine butter, sugar and vanilla and mix. Add eggs and mix until combined. Fold in flour, oats, cinnamon, baking soda and salt. Once dough is formed, add in chocolate chips or chunks and mix until evenly distributed.
Form 3 ounce balls (will make 14 cookies) and place onto a parchment paper lined baking sheet. Bake for 13-15 minutes until golden on the outside and still soft and gooey in the middle. Let cool on pan for 10 minutes before serving. Enjoy!
